Toasted Pumpkin Seeds

October 27, 2012 by magpiemenina

Hope you’ve all saved the seeds from your pumpkin carving! Here’s a simple way to turn them into a tasty treat that costs little.

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds

Separate the seeds from the pulp and rinse. Soak in salted water overnight.

Drain off the water. For each cup of seeds, add about a tablespoon of vegetable or canola oil and a teaspoon and a half of salt. You can also substitute garlic salt in place of the salt, or leave out the salt all together and add some cinnamon instead. Mix together.

Spread the seeds onto a baking sheet. Bake at 250 degrees for an hour and a half, stirring periodically. Take out and enjoy! These are great to eat on their own or in trail mix.

Pumpkin seeds are really high in iron. They are super good for you. I bet they were great.
